Standard Chartered bank named the best bank in Zambia

Standard Chartered Bank has been named Best Emerging Market Bank in Africa in Global Finance magazine’s annual awards.
This is the third consecutive year that Standard Chartered Bank Africa has topped the tables with Global Finance.
Additionally, Standard Chartered Bank also won ‘Best Emerging Market Bank’ in Zambia (for the sixth consecutive year); in Botswana (also for the sixth consecutive year) and in The Gambia.
Winners are nominated by Global Finance editors, industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts, and based on criteria including growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative products.
And Commenting on the development, Standard Chartered Bank Zambia Managing Director Mizinga Melu said: the bank will continue to differentiate their brand and have confidence in our strategy for long-term, sustainable growth.
The award follows Standard Chartered’s record income and profit growth in 2010 across Africa, driven by an exceptional performance across the business. This is particularly true for Standard Chartered Bank in Zambia where the Bank was the most profitable in the market in 2010.
This is the eighteenth year that Global Finance has selected top banking performers in emerging markets.
