CSAWUZ urges ministry of finance to release funds to workers at the ministry of health

THE CIVIL SERVANTS AND ALLIED WORKERS UNION OF ZAMBIA (CSAWUZ) HAS URGED THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE AND NATION PLANNING TO URGENTLY RELEASE THE FUNDS SO THAT WORKERS AT THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH CAN GET THEIR ENTITLEMENTS AS IT IS LONG OVERDUE.
UNION PRESIDENT DAVY CHIYOBE HAS TOLD  RADIO PHOENIX THAT THE UNION IS  AWARE THAT THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH HAS OVER THE YEAR ACCRUED OVER 150 BILLION KWACHA IN DEBT FOR LEAVE TRAVEL BENEFIT COMMUTATION OF LEAVE DAYS, SETTLING-IN ALLOWANCES, SALARY ARREARS, LONG SERVICE BONUSES AND REPATRIATION ALLOWANCES.
MR CHIYOBE HAS HOWEVER EXPRESSED HAPPINESS THAT THIS YEAR THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH HAS SET ASIDE ZMK 50 BILLION FOR SETTLING ARREARS OWED TO HEALTH WORKERS.
AND THE UNION PRESIDENT HAS FURTHER CALLED ON OTHER MINISTRIES TO EMULATE THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND BEGIN SETTLING THE ARREARS.
