POLITICAL PLAYERS IN THIS YEAR’S PRESIDENTIAL AND PARLIAMENTARY GENERAL ELECTIONS HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED NOT TO UNLEASH CAMPAIGN MESSAGES THAT ARE LIKELY TO CAUSE DISTURBANCES ON THE LOCAL ECONOMY

POLITICAL PLAYERS IN THIS YEAR’S PRESIDENTIAL AND PARLIAMENTARY GENERAL ELECTIONS HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED NOT TO UNLEASH CAMPAIGN MESSAGES THAT ARE LIKELY TO CAUSE DISTURBANCES ON THE LOCAL ECONOMY.
SPEAKING IN AN INTERVIEW WITH RADIO PHOENIX ,CENTRAL BANK GOVERNOR DR CALEB FUNDANGA CHARGED THAT ANY WELL MEANING ZAMBIAN ASPIRING TO ANY POLITICAL OFFICE SHOULD NOT IN ANY WAY JEOPARDIZE THE ECONOMIC GAINS  THE COUNTRY HAS RECORDED IN THE RECENT PAST.
HE SAYS WHATEVER THE OUTCOME OF THIS YEAR’S ELECTIONS WILL BE, INVESTORS MUST BE ASSURED THAT POLICY ENVIRONMENT WILL NOT CHANGE.
DR FUNDANGA HOWEVER WARNED THAT ANY POLITICIAN WHO GETS INTO POWER IF THEY JEOPARDIZE THE POLICIES, THIS WILL HAVE A REPEL EFFECTS ON THE FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT INFLOWS INTO THE COUNTRY.
MEANWHILE, THE CENTRAL BANK CHIEF HAS DISCLOSED THAT THE COUNTRY WILL SOON BE AVAILED WITH THE RESULTS ON CREDIT RATING FROM THE CONSULTANTS THAT CONDUCTED THE ENTIRE PROCESS.
