ZAVOSOFA commends govt for new stadia projects

THE ZAMBIA VOLUNTARY SOCCER FANS ASSOCIATION HAS COMMENDED GOVERNMENT FOR THE PROJECTS IT IS UNDERTAKING TO DEVELOP SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE COUNTRY.
ZAVOSOFA PATRON PASTOR PETER MAKEMBO HAS TOLD RADIO PHOENIX THAT THE PROJECT WHICH WILL BE UNDERTAKEN AT THE LUSAKA’S INDEPENDENCE STADIUM IS A GOOD GESTURE AND MUST BE SPREAD TO ALL THE NINE PROVINCES IF THE COUNTRY IS TO HOST BIG TOURNAMENTS ON ITS SOIL.
HE STATES THAT WHAT THE COUNTRY HAS BEEN LACKING ALL ALONG IS INFRASTRUCTURE HENCE CERTAIN TOURNAMENTS HAVE FAILED TO TAKE PLACE IN ZAMBIA.

PRESIDENT RUPIAH BANDA AND THE VICE PREMIER OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA HUI LAINGYU YESTERDAY LAID A FOUNDATION STONE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE 50,000 CAPACITY LUSAKA STADIUM ESTIMATED TO COST 94 MILLION DOLLARS.
APART FROM CONSTRUCTING THE STADIUM, THE CONTRACTOR SHANGAI CONSTRUCTION GROUP OF CHINA WILL ALSO REHABILITATE THE 46 YEAR OLD INDEPENDENCE STADIUM IN LUSAKA.
