WORLD BANK COUNTRY MANAGER KAPIL KAPOOR HAS URGED FOREIGN INVESTORS IN ZAMBIA NOT TO BE AGITATED WITH THE FORTH COMING GENERAL ELECTIONS.

WORLD BANK COUNTRY MANAGER KAPIL KAPOOR HAS URGED FOREIGN INVESTORS IN ZAMBIA NOT TO BE AGITATED WITH THE FORTH COMING PARLIAMENTARY AND PRESIDENTIAL GENERAL ELECTIONS.
ZAMBIA EXPERIENCED A REDUCTION IN THE INVESTMENT INFLOWS AS WELL AS A SHAKE UP IN THE ECONOMY DURING THE PREVIOUS ELECTIONS WHICH WAS ATTRIBUTED TO THE UNCERTAINTIES OF WHO TAKES OVER THE OFFICE.
SPEAKING IN AN INTERVIEW WITH RADIO PHOENIX IN LUSAKA, MR. KAPOOR SAYS  THERE IS NO NEED FOR THE ZAMBIAN INVESTORS TO BE AGITATED WITH THE FORTHCOMING GENERAL ELECTIONS CONSIDERING THE STABILITY PREVAILING IN THE COUNTRY.
HE STATED THAT THE ECONOMY IS THIS YEAR EXPECTED TO GROW AT ABOUT 6 PERCENT EVEN MORE THAN THIS HENCE NO NEED FOR THE FEARS AMONG THE INVESTORS.
MR. KAPIL FURTHER URGED GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE FOCUSING ON INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT, AGRICULTURE AND OTHER VITAL SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY IF RECORDED GROWTH IS TO BE MAINTAINED AND ENHANCED.
