ILO to launch the Pan-African Women Entrepreneurship Development

THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANISATION COUNTRY OFFICE WILL TODAY HOST THE PAN AFRICAN FORUM ON WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN RESPONSE TO THE FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC CRISIS.
ZAMBIA HAS BEEN SELECTED TO PILOT A SERIES OF FOCUSED GROUP DISCUSSIONS WITH THE STAKEHOLDERS SUCH AS WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS, ASSOCIATIONS, KEY PARTNERS, DONORS, EMPLOYERS, WORKERS AND GOVERNMENT TO ASSESS THEIR VIEW AROUND THREE KEY ISSUES.
THE THREE KEY ISSUES ARE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CAIRO PLATFORM FOR ACTION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN AFRICA, INSTITUTIONALIZATION OF THE PAN-AFRICAN FORUM ON WOMEN’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT(WED) AND AGENDA OF THE SECOND CAIRO WED FORUM.
AND THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANISATION IN COLLABORATION WITH THE AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK WILL BE HOLDING ITS SECOND PAN-AFRICAN FORUM ON WOMEN’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN CAIRO AT THE END OF APRIL 2011.
THE FIRST PAN AFRICAN FORUM 2009 CONFERENCE WAS HELD UNDER THE THEME “WOMEN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN RESPONSE TO THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC CRISIS” AND LED TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CAIRO PLATFORM OF ACTION FOR WED.
