IT HAS FURTHER REVEALED THAT IT WILL ONLY CONSIDER EVACUATING ZAMBIANS BASED ON THE DAILY UPDATES OF THE SITUATION IN ANY COUNTRY EXPERIENCING DISTURBANCES.
FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER KABINGA PANDE HAS EXPLAINED IN A NEWS STATEMENT TO RADIO PHOENIX TODAY THAT THERE ARE FIFTEEN ZAMBIANS IN EGYPT WHO ARE ALL REPORTED TO BE SAFE AND THE ZAMBIAN AMBASSADOR IN CAIRO IS IN CONSTANT TOUCH WITH THE MINISTRY ON THE SITUATION THERE.
AND MR PANDE ADDS THAT GOVERNMENT HAD EARLIER EVACUATED FIVE ZAMBIAN STUDENTS FROM TUNISIA AT THE HEIGHT OF DISTURBANCES THERE AND ARE HOWEVER EXPECTED TO BE BACK IN THAT COUNTRY SOON.
THE MINISTER FURTHER SAYS 55 OTHER ZAMBIANS WORKING FOR AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK IN TUNISIA WERE SAFE AND DID NOT NEED EVACUATION.
