Bisa people to choose its new chief


THE BISA SUPREME COUNCIL HAS COMMENDED GOVERNMENT FOR REVOCATING THE RECOGNITION OF MR BOB BWEEMBYA LUYO AS CHIEF OF THE CHIBESAKUNDA PEOPLE OF CHINSALI DISTRICT IN NORTHERN PROVINCE.
THESE ARE SENIOR CHIEF KOPA OF THE BISA PEOPLE,AND CHIEFS CHIUNDAPONDE, CHIWANAGALA, KABANDA, KABINGA, MATIPA, MPUMBA, MUKUNGULE AND NABWALYA.
ACCORDING TO A NEWS STATEMENT AVAILED TO RADIO PHOENIX TODAY AND SIGNED BY BISA SUPREME COUNCIL SPOKESPERSON MR NEWTON NG’UNI, ONLY SON OF A WOMAN WHO BELONGS TO THE “BENA NG’ONA” CLAN CAN AND IS ELIGIBLE TO ASEND TO THE THRONE OF CHIEF IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FAMILY TREE.
MR NG’UNI EXPLAINS THAT MR LUO’S MOTHER BELONGS TO THE “BENA NKASHI” CLAN AND THEREFORE IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO ASCEND TO ANY THRONE OF A CHIEF AMONG THE BISAS.
HE HOWEVER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT MR BOB LUO IS PATENAL GRANDSON OF THE LATE CHIEF CHIBESAKUNDA CHIKUNI, BUT WAS HAST TO STATE THAT CHILDREN OF CHIEFS AND THEIR OFFERINGS CANNOT BECOME CHIEFS.
MR NG’UNI STATES THAT MR LUO CLEARLY KNEW THAT HE DID NOT QUALIFY TO BECONE CHIEF IN THE FIRST PLACE BUT CHOSE TOGETHER WITH HIS SPONSORS TO MANIPULATE GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS.
HE HAS SINCE REVEALED THAT THE BISA CHEIFS AND “ABENA NG’ONA AT MUTAMBE IN CHINSALI WILL SOON ORGANISE A MEETING TO CHOOSE A PERSON TO SUCCEED THE LATE CHIEF CHIBESAKUNDA KAKUNGU IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVR AND THE FAMILY TREE.
