Zambian govt warns people trying to cause confusion in the country

GOVERNMENT HAS WARNED THAT IT WILL NOT CONDONE PEOPLE TRYING TO DESTABILIZE THE COUNTRY AND ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN CAUSING CONFUSION IN WESTERN PROVINCE WILL FACE THE WRATH OF THE LAW.
HOME AFFAIRS MINISTER MKHONDO LUNGU SAYS GOVERNMENT WILL PROVIDE PEACE AND SECURITY TO THE WESTERN PROVINCE.
HE WAS REACTING TO A RIOT IN MONGU ON DECEMBER 18, WHICH RESULTED IN THE ARREST OF 21 PROTESTERS.
MR. LUNGU SAID THE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE MATTER TO ESTABLISH THE CAUSE OF THE RIOT, WHICH HAS COME TWO MONTHS AFTER A SIMILAR PROTEST.
DURING THE FRACAS, ALLIANCE FOR DEMOCRACY AND DEVELOPMENT PRESIDENT CHARLES MILUPI WAS INJURED AND POLICE IN MONGU HAVE SINCE ARRESTED 21 PEOPLE IN CONNECTION WITH RIOTOUS BEHAVIOR.
CONFIRMING THE ARRESTS, POLICE SPOKESPERSON NDANDULA SIAMANA SAID THE 21 WERE ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH CONDUCT LIKELY TO CAUSE BREACH OF PEACE.
