ZCTU sets date for its quadrennial congress


THE ZAMBIA CONGRESS OF TRADE UNIONS (ZCTU) SAYS IT WILL HOLD ITS 13TH QUADRENNIAL CONGRESS FROM 26TH TO 29TH DECEMBER 2010 AT NEW FAIRMOUNT HOTEL IN LIVINGSTONE.
IN A PRESS STATEMENT RELEASED TO RADIO PHOENIX TODAY, ZCTU SECRETARY GENERAL  ROY MWABA SAYS ALL DELEGATES ARE EXPECTED TO ARRIVE IN LIVINGSTONE ON 26TH DECEMBER, 2010.
MR. MWABA SAYS THE CONGRESS WHICH WILL RUN FOR TWO DAYS WILL BE ATTENDED BY ALL AFFILIATES WHO ARE IN GOOD STANDING REGARDING MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS.
HE SAYS  DELEGATES WILL REVIEW AMONG OTHER THINGS THE CONSTITUTION, POLICY ISSUES AND THE PERFORMANCE OF ZCTU FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS AND PLAN FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS.
THE ZCTU QUADRENNIAL CONGRESS IS EXPECTED TO ATTRACT ABOUT 400 PEOPLE WHO WILL INCLUDE DELEGATES , INVITED GUESTS, LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS AND A NEW EXECUTIVE IS EXPECTED TO BE ELECTED INTO OFFICE AT THE CONFERENCE AND WILL STEER THE CONGRESS BUSINESS FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS.
