FFTUZ describes the country's labour laws as pathetic

THE FEDERATION OF THE FREE TRADE UNION OF ZAMBIA (FFTUZ) HAS DESCRIBED THE COUNTRY’S LABOUR LAWS AS PATHETIC AND FAVOURING FOREIGNERS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CITIZENS.
AND THE FFTUZ HAS TO THIS EFFECT CALLED FOR THE IMMEDIATE AND QUICK REVIEW OF THE LAWS THAT THEY DECRIBE AS VERY TOOTHLESS AT THE MOMENT.
FFTUZ GENERAL SECRETRAY JOYCE NONDE SIMUKOKO SAYS IT IS SAD THAT ZAMBIAN WORKERS HAVE CONTINUED TO SUFFER AT THE HANDS OF FOREIGN INVESTORS ESPECIALLY THOSE WORKING IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR A DEVELOPMENT SHE SAYS IF LEFT UNCHECKED BY THIS GOVERNMENT CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INDUSTRIAL CRISIS.
SHE SAYS IT IS SAD THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS DILUTED THE LABOUR LAWS RESULTING IN ZAMBIANS NOT BEING PROTECTED FROM THE HANDS OF HARSH INVESTORS.
MRS SIMUKOKO SAYS IT IS AMAZING THAT DESPITE MAKING PROPOSALS TO GOVERNMENT TO HAVE SOME OF THE LABOUR LAWS AMENDED; THE STATE HAS REMAINED STIFF NECKED HENCE PRIORITISING THE FOREIGNERS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE OWNERS OF THE LAND.
