MMD SETS DECEMBER AS MONTH TO HOLD ITS NATIONAL CONVENTION

THE RULING MOVEMENT FOR MULTI-PARTY DEMOCRACY (MMD) ACTING PARTY NATIONAL TREASURER CHEMBE NYANGU HAS DISCLOSED THAT THE PARTY NATIONAL CONVENTION WILL BE HELD IN DECEMBER 2010.
SPEAKING IN THE LIMELIGHT OF PARTY KATUBA MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT JONAS SHAKAFUSWA’S DISCLOSURE THAT THE PARTY NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE HAS NO MANDATE TO EXPEL HIM FROM THE PARTY WITHOUT HAVING THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE, MR. NYANGU HAS CHARGED THAT THE MP IS TALKING FROM A CONFUSED AND IGNORANT POINT OF VIEW.
MR NYANGU SAYS MR. SHAKAFUSWA KNOWS THAT THE PARTY EVERY YEAR MAKES REPORTS WHICH ARE RECOMMENDED TO THE CONVENTION AND THEN DECISIONS ARE MADE HENCE THE MP MUST WAIT FOR THE CONFERENCE AND NOT TALK FROM WITHOUT.
HE HAS EXPLAINED THAT THE PARTY MEMBERS ARE EAGER TO HAVE THE CONFERENCE BUT THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE THE PARTY HAS IS THE CHANGE IN SEASON AND DELAY IN PROVINCIAL PARTY ELECTIONS WHICH HAVE NOT YET BEEN HELD AS THEY ARE DISTRICT ELECTIONS CURRENTLY TAKING PLACE.
MR NYANGU HAS STATED THAT FAILURE TO HOLDING THE CONVENTION IN DECEMBER, THE PARTY WILL HOLD IN JANUARY WHEN THE RAIN SEASON IS GOING TO AN END SO THAT PEOPLE ARE NOT PUT UNDER JEOPARDY.
MEANWHILE IN A SEPARATE INTERVIEW WITH RADIO PHOENIX PARTY NATIONAL CHAIRPERSON MICHAEL MABENGA HAS ACCUSED THE MEDIA OF DRAWING CONCLUSIONS OVER THE MATTER SAYING MEDIA MUST NOT TAKE WHAT MR SHAKAFUSWA HAS SAID HAS THE GOSPEL TRUTH.
MR MABENGA HAS FURTHER CHALLENGED FORMER CHILANGA MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT NG’ANDU MAGANDE TO EXPLAIN WHY HE ACCEPTED TO BE EXPELLED IF WHAT MR. SHAKAFUSWA IS SAYING IS THE TRUTH.
MR MABENGA IN A SEEMLY FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY TONE SAYS MR. SHAKAFUSWA MUST EXPLAIN FROM WHAT POINT OF VIEW HE IS DRAWING HIS CONCLUSION BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT EVERY ORGANISATION HAS GUIDELINES TO FOLLOW.
