LUSAKA CITY MAYOR DANIEL CHISANGA HAS CHALLENGED THE VICE PRESIDENT TO CLEARLY EXPLAIN TO THE COUNCIL WHEN GOVERNMENT RELEASED THE SAID 11 BILLION KWACHA TO THEM FOR DRAINAGES.
MR CHISENGA SAID THE COUNCIL IS NOT AWARE OF GOVERNMENT’S RELEASE OF THE 11 BILLION KWACHA THIS YEAR FOR THE DRAINAGES IN LUSAKA CITY.
HE HOWEVER EXPLAINED THAT LAST YEAR GOVERNMENT RELEASED K1.8 BILLION THROUGH DMMU FOR DRAINAGES, AND IN THE SAME YEAR 9.8 BILLION KWACHA WAS RELEASED.
MR CHISENGA DISCLOSED THAT THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE HAS THIS YEAR RELEASED 3 BILLOIN KWACHA TO THE OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR THE SAME PROJECTS.
BUT THE VICE PRESIDENT GEORGE KUNDA YESTERDAY DISCLOSED THAT GOVERNMENT WILL LAUNCH AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE 11 BILLION KWACHA RELEASED TO THE LUSAKA CITY COUNCIL THIS YEAR FOR DRAINAGES IN THE CITY.
