The Zambia national farmers union has described this year’s maize marketing season by the food reserve agency as full of challenges.
Union president Jarvis Zimba has told radio phoenix in an interview that the challenges has been as a result of the unprecedented bumper harvest THAT the country has recorded this year around.
However, Mr zimba adds that there is need to recommend the food reserve agency for a job well done for mopping all the maize in the country.
He further says among other challenges that he would love to see the fra improve on, is the marketing strategies and the payment mode to perfect the whole system.
Mr zimba says once such issues are addressed, even issues of farmers being paid late of their money will be a thing of the past.
Ends.
